Computer Shop Brighton (Computer Services Brighton Hove Sussex) at Diamond Computers

Before opening our computer shop in Brighton, you may have recognised us in the late 90s and early 00s from the regular weekend computer fairs which took place in exotic locations such as Hove Town Hall and Brighton Racecourse (we even exhibited at Worthing Town Hall sometimes as well!). From there we traded computer parts and custom built PCs both to end users and to trade customers.

As our knowledge and experience increased, Diamond expanded its computer services in Brighton to the areas of PC and laptop repair as well as IT support for local companies. Please take a moment to browse our IT Support website for more information on our B2B IT services. We now believe we have grown to become one of Brighton and Hove leading independent businesses offering computer services in Brighton, Hove and Sussex.

All our repairs are done 'in-house' by our team of technicians. We can also arrange home visits where repairs can be done on-site by one of our engineers. We do not use third party companies resulting in quick turnarounds and clear communication directly between you the customer and the assigned technician. We pride ourselves in being able to provide a fast and friendly service.

In 2007, Diamond Computers became an authorised Epson Express Centre for the area. We offer a repair service for users of both under warranty and out of warranty Epson inkjet printers. We also sell genuine Epson ink.

In June 2009, we moved our workshop from our Hove base to our New England Rd computer shop in Brighton and now operate solely from these premises. Its easy to find being opposite the Cobblers Thumb Pub just below the viaduct and close to Preston Circus. Since the move we have been able to further improve the speed and capacity of our repair service as everything is now done "under one roof".

If you live in the Brighton, Hove or Sussex then why not speak to one of our technicians on 01273 625032 for some sound advice! Alternatively, you can visit us in- store at our computer shop in Brighton.

Norton update blamed for Windows XP crashes

A bug in an update of Symantec's anti-virus software has caused some Windows PCs to crash, making machines inoperable until they were serviced in an embarrassing episode that angered some customers. The company disclosed the problem on its website, saying that an update to its widely used Symantec Endpoint Protection 12.1 and Norton anti-virus software for businesses caused some PCs running Microsoft Windows XP software to crash repeatedly, showing what is known as the "blue screen of death."

USB Flash Drive Repair

These highly portable and convenient devices are great for storing and transporting personal data. Most people like and use them because they don’t cost much and are basically really handy! They have no moving parts inside like that of an external hard drive, so accidentally knocking a flash drive (also known as memory stick or pen drive) off your desk won’t have the same disastrous results. All sounds good but unfortunately many of us have too much faith in these nifty little electronic gadgets. We have customers in every week keen to recover all their important digital documents from their USB flash drives. And rarely have they backed up. 3 Most Common Types of Flash Drive Failure: Broken or Bent USB Connector – we can solder the connector back on or where the solder pads have been torn off we can rebuild the solder runs. If the damage is too severe we will try and remove and attach the memory chip to an identical circuit board. Failed flash drive components – resistors and capacitors can burn out but can be replaced if an identical flash drive can still be bought. Flash drive needs to be formatted error message - Where Flash Drive Recovery is Impossible Physical Damage to NAND memory chip – a small hair-line fracture on the chip or broken or missing pins around the chip Overwritten Data – we can normally recover data from erased and formatted drives as long as it has not been overwritten i.e. new files not saved to the drive over the top of the lost data If your flash drive has become damaged or inaccessible for any reason, give us a call and we can probably tell you the odds of a successful recovery.
Why Online Backup

Why Online Backup

Online Backup What is online backup? Online backup is a more efficient and easier way to backup your data. It keeps your data safe from things like hard drive crashes, theft, floods and fires. You might already use CDs/DVDs or external hard drives to back up your data. The main difference and benefit that online backup offers over those options is convenience. Face it, backing up your computer is usually not a priority. You forget to do it. Or maybe, you don’t know how to do it. It is just too much of a hassle and can take a long time. Also, like any piece of hardware, an external hard drive can be physically damaged, leaving your personal data inaccessible. The Benefits: Backup all your files on PC or Mac. Really easy to use, the files backup automatically while you work. You can view and download your backed up files anywhere anytime. Sync your files between your computer and mobile phones. Your files are 100% safe and secure.
